From Fika & Co we are very proud to be able to tell you about the hand painting project in which we were able to participate, thanks to the friends of Cafe Racer SSpirit (CRSS).
Creative freedom, the perfect assignment for any artist.
When we received the call from CRSS and they approached us about the project, to paint the new XSR700 for the Yamaha Europe Yard Built 2020 project in which they were participating on behalf of Spain, we quickly began to think of different ideas.
After making several sketches, we decided to develop the Yamaha “Revs Your Heart” concept as a base, and accompanied by the iconic colors of Yamaha Racing in the 1970s, with the characteristic red blocks on a white background. CRSS gave us creative freedom, something that the painter Javier Peña described as the dream of every artist.

We had never done any similar work, so we did not know all the details of how to carry out the idea that we had defined, but that is never an impediment for us. Luckily we have a lot of friends in the sector and we were quickly able to study, buy the necessary materials and practice, before getting down to work. In parallel, Hugo and his team looked for the acrylic automotive paint in the red RAL color of Yamaha Racing.
Using only freehand painting methods and a brush, Javier replicated a heartbeat effect on the bike with vivid splashes and drops of red paint on the tank, frame and other components, producing an organic effect that reflects the thrill of riding. and the roar of an engine.
